The BEST Banana Bread (GF & DF)

This gluten-free banana bread is naturally sweet, moist and full of flavour. You can enjoy it plain, with chopped nuts or even chocolate chips. Perfect for breakfast or as a snack!

2 bananas mushed

1/3 cup coconut oil (melted and cooled)

2 eggs (room temperature)

1/4 cup almond milk or oat milk

1/4 cup maple syrup

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 3/4 cup almond flour

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp cinnamon

Pinch of salt

Optional: 1/3 cup walnuts, blueberries or chocolate chips


  1. Preheat oven to 350 F and line a loaf pan with parchment paper. Set aside.

  2. In a large mixing bowl combine all wet ingredients (bananas, eggs, coconut oil, milk maple syrup and vanilla extract) and mix until well combined.

  3. Add in all the dry ingredients and fold until it is combined into the batter. Do not over mix as this will take the moisture out of the bread.

  4. Optional; fold in walnuts or chocolate chips

  5. Pour the batter into the loaf pan and place it in the oven. Bake for 50-55 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes clean.

  6. Remove the pan from the oven and allow it to completely cool on a cooling rack before slicing.


This banana bread freezes perfectly! Place the slices evenly on a sheet pan and freeze until hardened. Transfer to a ziplock bag and you have yourself an easy grab and go breakfast.
